Black and Blue, Burning River’s annual charity bout, returns on November 11th to the North Olmsted Soccer Sportsplex!
The 12th annual charity bout divides the league into two teams for one of the most exciting roller derby events of the year. Fans of all ages will enjoy watching their favorite Burning River skaters, pitted against each other on Team Black and Team Blue, duke it out for the Punch Bowl Cup!
In addition to the bout, which is always entertaining, a special highlight of the night will be the halftime show: Full-Contact Musical Chairs…on skates! This highly-anticipated, anything-goes contest keeps fans talking all year long and acts as a rite of passage for the newest members of the league.
This year’s event benefits the Cleveland American Veterans Association (C.A.V.A.). C.A.V.A. assists veterans as they transition out of homelessness by taking responsibility to ensure homes are move-in ready and providing all furnishings, including toiletries, and moving services. C.A.V.A. will receive the monies collected from guest captain auctions and raffles, as well as a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales. C.A.V.A. will also be in-house to accept donations in the form of cash or toiletries. Anyone who brings a donation for C.A.V.A. will receive a FREE PRIZE of BRRD merchandise to be determined by the BRRD Prize Wheel!
