Welcome to Roller Derby

Burning River Roller Derby would like to officially welcome you to the Roller Derby community! By visiting this page or attending a bout we hope that you are at the start of an affirming life experience.

Roller derby is a full contact sport played on quad-style roller skates. There are two 30-minute halves split up into jams. Jams last up to two minutes each. Points are scored by “jammers,” skaters with stars on their helmets passing the opposing team’s skaters or blockers. The first jammer to pass all the blockers is lead jammer and can end a jam before the two minutes.
