What is the meaning behind your skater name?

I'm a big fan of Winona Ryder!! And I thought she had a cool name so I put a little spin on it, a S P O O K Y twist.

What was your athletic background prior to playing roller derby?

I knew how to skate (barely) from roller blading as a kid but overall I never saw myself as an athletic person until very recently.

Is there a song that gets you pumped up before a bout?

Tiny Cities Made of Ashes by Modest Mouse.

What aspect of derby do you enjoy the most?

I love the community here in Cleveland. I have met really amazing people and I feel lucky to be a part of something like this. I have also found a lot of confidence since joining. I'm proud of my body and my progress as an athlete for the first time in my life.

How did you get started in your roller derby career?

Honestly I don't remember. One day I didn't know people still played roller derby and the next I was going to my first tots practice!
