My name is Anna, and I'm a teacher. Annabelle Lecture, Hannibal Lecter, you get it.

What was your athletic background prior to playing roller derby?

I was a competitive figure skater for 10 years.

Is there a song that gets you pumped up before a bout?

Anything Tom Petty. My boi.

What aspect of derby do you enjoy the most?

My teammates!

How did you get started in your roller derby career?

After I stopped competing in figure skating, I really missed physical challenges. I'd never played a contact sport OR a team sport, and then I found the recruitment email address for BRRD. Summer Affair 2017 happened to be a few days later, so I checked it out. I bought all of my gear that day at the event, and I started Skater Tots a few weeks later and then joined the league... I never looked back!
