Burning River Roller Derby’s Hazmat Crew started 2016 right by winning our first bout of the season against the Rubber City Roller Girls of Akron, Ohio on February 6, 2016. The bout was a real nail-biter, with Rubber City leading 84-43 at halftime before Hazmat Crew surged back to a 2-point victory, finishing 139-141. Bustin’ Stuff was named MVP blocker for Burning River Roller Derby and Killer Queen was named MVP jammer. Rubber City’s MVPs were blocker Oreo Wookie and jammer Valkillree. Thanks to the Rubber City Roller Girls for hosting and playing such a fun, tough bout!
