When did you become interested in derby? It must be already 3 years since I have my eyes set on roller derby.
What is the most exciting thing that you’ve done so far as a new home team 
skater? Jump the Apex. Get in some good hits. Hopefully more like that to come!
What was your first bout like? Of course it was SCARY. 1) Panic at first as every body is very serious and throws nasty looks and hits at you. 2) What if I f*** up and end up in the box, I would let down my team.
Any advice for people thinking about trying out for derby? Shut up and skate. Push yourself beyond your comfort zone.
Do you have a favorite skater? Someone who mentored you? I have many favorite skaters. You all know who you are ladies!!!

When did you become interested in derby? The very first time I attended a bout.
What is the most exciting thing that you’ve done so far as a new home team skater? I got drafted by the Steamers and now i am sTeammates with the women who inspired me to give derby a go in the first place : )
What was your first bout like? Excitement mixed with a bit of nausea, ha! I always say derby is helping me hone nerves of steel. once the whistle blows though, it’s all good…
Any advice for people thinking about trying out for derby? DO IT!!!!!! you will end up challenging yourself in ways you never thought you could.
What’s your personal theme song and why? hmmm, never thought about this – I will just say I like to get pumped up to skate with some Zombie or Black Keys?

Do you have a favorite skater? Someone who mentored you? How much space do I have to answer this question? So many BRRG are special to me and inspire me. I do have to give a shout out to wRECk leadership who encouraged me and put me on the right path, and also to Soul Eater for being such a recruiter extraordinaire!

When did you become interested in derby? About 2 years ago.
What is the most exciting thing that you’ve done so far as a new home team skater?
Signing lots of autographs! I even signed someone’s child one time; that was awesome. I’m always surprised when people recognize me off-skates.
Being able to skate with the people I’ve looked up to for so many years has also been surreal.
What was your first bout like? Really loud! My first (real official) bout was actually a TT bout, so I actually skated with Hazmat before the Steamers. Coming from playing rugby in college, I wasn’t prepared for how loud the music and announcers and fans would be. I could hardly hear myself think, but it was really exciting!
Any advice for people thinking about trying out for derby? The more time you spend on skates, the better off you will be. I started skating at least a full year before I tried out for BRRG. Also spend some time watching derby (online or in person!) and ask a lot of questions. Learning the game is really important!
