The skaters of the Burning River Roller Girls, Cleveland’s premier
flat track roller derby league, love two things: roller derby and the
city of Cleveland. That’s why this group of exceptional athletes is
proud to present Black & Blue 7, the league’s seventh annual charity
bout, which combines hard-hitting roller derby action with an
opportunity to give back to our city.

The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Ohio Nets Sports
Complex in Parma.  The actions starts at 7:00 p.m.

This year, the league will be donating a portion of every ticket sale
to Beech Brook, a Northeast Ohio agency designed to provide
prevention, intervention and treatment programs for some of the area’s
most vulnerable children, teens and families. For more than 160 years,
Beech Brook has been providing services ranging from mentoring and
counseling to fostering and adoption.

All of the teams of the Burning River Roller Girls will regroup into
Team Black and Team Blue for one of the most exciting roller derby
events of the year. Fans can win the right to captain the teams via a
special eBay auction, in which proceeds will be donated to Beech
Brook. Captains will be able to draft their favorite skaters, attend
practices and share in the excitement and glory of game day, all while
helping a great cause.  Links to our auction will be updated at 8:00 p.m. Be sure to check our Facebook page!

But the highlight of night will be the halftime show, in which the new
recruits of the Burning River Roller Girls will engage in a battle of
full-contact musical chairs—on skates! This aggressive event keeps
fans talking all year long and acts as a rite of passage to the newest
members of the league.
