Eddie, Me-Ow and their son.

“Ed kicked cancer in the balls for 2 years, he was a brave inspiration to all who knew him.”

That line from the obituary of Edward Wille Jr. speaks volumes about a man who many of us knew as Brother Ed. Always a fighter and always an inspiration, Ed’s passing has left a huge hole in many hearts throughout Northeast Ohio.

Brother Ed was active in the Cleveland music scene as a drummer for Uncle Scratch’s Gospel Revival, where he got his nickname. He touched many lives through his music and by the way he lived his life, with great love and dedication to his friends and family.

We were honored to have gotten the chance to know Ed here at the Burning River Roller Girls. His wife, Natalie, is better known to all of us as Me-Ow, one of our founding members and a huge part in getting BRRG off the ground. Ed was extremely supportive during this process and was a big fan of the league. Years later, those who knew him still speak fondly of him and Me-Ow and share stories of their legacy with new league members.

Our hearts go out to Natalie and their son, Angus, and the rest of Ed’s family and friends. We know the sadness we feel can only be a fraction of what you’re all feeling, and we offer any support we can.

We’ll be updating with ways you can monetarily pay tribute to Brother Ed, but in the meantime, feel free to leave a comment sharing a little love.
