One of the winners of last year's auction.

UPDATE: And we’re back! Check the new links below for the auction! Ends Oct. 22.

The Burning River Roller Girls league once again is auctioning off the opportunity to captain one of the teams for Black & Blue 6!

Proceeds from the auction go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Northeast Ohio.

The BRRG is bringing this amazing opportunity back to the public via eBay® auction. A BRRG skater assists to show you the ropes, and you get the true grit experience of being a roller derby team captain.

“It gives the fans an opportunity to get more involved. Many sports have ‘practice with the pros’ type deals. It’s also pulling from the big fantasy sports idea, where you can pick your dream team. You get to experience derby through the eyes of a player, not just a fan on the side lines. Fans are always excited to be able to interact with us more.” – Eva Lucien, BRRG Derby Operations Vice President.

The guest captains will have helper skaters to guide them through the process of drafting and making lineups. Practice times will be set up for each team where the guest coaches can come and run drills and get a sense for how everyone skates, develop strategy with the teams, then put that strategy to the test on bout day, Nov. 19.

And to sweeten the deal, the guest captains will each receive 15 free tickets to give to friends and family to see their derby prowess in action, plus a special “thank you” gift to remember the ultimate experience with the skaters of the BRRG!
